What To Expect
What To Expect - Welcome, we're glad you're here!
St John's is an active and growing Parish, welcoming all to Worship, Service and Fellowship. You'll find lots of friendly faces and many opportunities to grow in faith.
Sunday Services are held at 8:00 and 10:00 am each Sunday. Fellowship continues following the 10am service with coffee hour in the parish hall. Coffee and light refreshments are served.
Nursery Care is offered for infants and children up to age 3 from 9:45 - 11:15 on Sunday mornings in the preschool building. Our nursery attendant is a trained child care worker and is assisted by at least one volunteer each week.
Sunday School is offered for children ages 3-10 during the first portion of the 10am service. Families begin the service together in the sanctuary and the children gather after the opening prayer to walk to the preschool building with the Sunday School teachers. Children re-join their parents at the peace so that they can share Communion together. Sunday School uses an Episcopalian curriculum that is age appropriate and follows the same Bible lessons that are read in church.
Communion - All are welcome to receive Communion! Please feel free to kneel or stand at the communion railing. Gluten free wafers are available as well. Some choose instead to receive a blessing, or a blessing for their child from the rector at the communion railing. The Rector is happy to meet with parents about instruction for children at any time.
Baptism is a full initiation into Christ and the church. If you have been baptized with water and the name of the Trinity, we honor that and do not repeat baptisms. Please contact the parish office for upcoming dates and to schedule a baptism.
Confirmation - All who are baptized may make a public affirmation of their faith in the service of Confirmation when our Bishop is present. Confirmation classes are held to prepare older teens and adults for this event. If you are interested in being confirmed, please contact the parish office.
Weddings - Congratulations! If you would like to have your wedding ceremony at St. John's, more information is available here (LINK).
Help in Need -In the event of serious illness, death or life crisis, please call the church office or the Rector directly.
